We would like to remind a few important points to our volunteers, who have been engaged in trade in the USA for years and who have immigrated to this country and started commercial ventures in recent years:
- Hizmet volunteers must act in full compliance with the laws of the country they live in and in accordance with universal moral values in business, as in their other occupations.
- Relationships can be established between Hizmet volunteers at the level of knowledge and experience sharing in general, and at the commercial exchange or partnership level in particular. We strongly remind that issues such as close friendship, unity of ideals or religiosity should not be the determining factor when establishing a commercial transaction or partnership relationship, and that material issues such as smart action and precise calculations required by trade should be given priority.
- When establishing relationships such as commercial transactions or partnerships, it is recommended not to act based on verbal statements and only trust, to put the principles and promises of the transaction or partnership in writing, to obtain professional service from experts in the field such as lawyers and financial advisors, and to benefit from the knowledge of experienced traders. We would like to bring to your attention that the partnership agreement should include the responsibilities of each partner, who will receive what salary according to their role in the company, who will gain what if things go well, who will lose what if things go bad, and an exit plan from the partnership and trade if necessary.
- While trade continues, our relationships and roles within the Hizmet should not be confused with the roles in the commercial relationship, the sharing of responsibilities and authority in the commercial relationship should be determined well from the beginning, we should not act only on the basis of trust, the course of trade should be reviewed and accounted for at certain periods.
- We remind you that it should be clear from the beginning what kind of legal and financial process will be followed in case of a dispute, in case the trade ends in bankruptcy or the partnership is terminated. In such cases, it is expected to act in accordance with the law, contract terms and equity. The consequences of negative relationships should not be reflected on the institution of Hizmet.
- We recommend that you be careful about pricing outside market conditions and promises of unusual profits.
- It is inevitable to comply with federal and state laws on matters such as keeping accounting records and tax declaration.
- We would like to remind you that it is very important for the friends in charge within the Hizmet movement not to hold positions such as observers, witnesses, mediators, or promoters in commercial partnerships, and not to make proposals to the friends in charge to take such roles in order to prevent the Hizmet movement and its institutions from being affected by any problems that may arise.
